I on my last 3 tanks have used a plenum and dsb in my fuge, it worked for me and when I tore my 75 down just recently, after 2 years the fuge was heathy, no signs of decay or hydrogen sulfide like everyone claims.

    Good luck

For the 120g display tank that I'm setting up, I have decided to use a "remote plenum" in the sump (recycled 75g tank), with a small area (2" x 14") in the refugium for a 4" DSB to support rooted macro algae.
