To scrape or not ?

    My 90 gallon reef tank has been up for over 10 months. I was happy to see the coralline algae on the back wall at first, but as it nears complete coverage I am not so sure.

    Initially the black made the colors of the fish and corals pop, but with the wall now almost completely covered the tank has lost that contrast.

    So, should I scrape it and start fresh ?

    Scrape it if you like or get a Pencil Urchin. They love to munch coralline :)

    I would scrape it. Don't forget Corrailine is like SPS and will soak up alot of ALK,Calcium, and Mag. from your tank.;)

    I'm a scraper myself,just because I like the clean black back over big spots of coralline.
