To shield or not to shield TEK?

    I initially bought a shield, but it was slightly too large, about 1/16". So I don't use it and cut it up to use as a top. I get salt splash marks on it, but I just clean the reflectors occassionally, nothing too bad. Even if you used the shield, I wouldn't worry about heat, the Tek fixtures run very cool and are designed to be used with the shield.

    No shield, light is about 3-4 inches above the water, very little salt creep:)
