    I never vacuum my sand. It stays clean without me ever touching it. Tons of spaghetti worms and some hermit crabs doing the job for me. I don't have any Nassarius snails.

    I LOVE NASS SNAILS!!! i have 13 in there right now, which was fine for my 25 but now i need a few more for my 55. 3 really big ones and 10 little ones. geuss i'll pick a few more up this week.

    about this sand sifting stars, are they reef safe? when it comes to eating snails and stuff like that??

    My sand-sifting star is really active and gets all of the sand moving really well. It is fascinating to watch.

    I don't vacuum. My pistol shrimp and watchman goby are constantly rearranging the sand bed (and are more fun to watch than a vacuum ;)). I also have nassarius snails to help.

    I don't vacuum either. Sandsifter and vibex snails do the job......
