It might not hurt to try. Softies can be very slow to open fully even after opening up right after putting in the tank.

Toadstolls don't like to be touched so every time you do you are only making it worse. It is not uncommon for them to remain closed for several days.If you see necrotic tissue you can try and gently blow it off with a turkey baster or syringe.;)

I've got a few in my tank and they go through a shed. Let it be and all will be fine. My yellow toadstool took 9 days to open up when I first put it in the tank.

the yellow color concerns me. I had a brown toadstool abot 14 inches around. One day it had a little yelliw on it. I wasn't concerned at that time, but as days went on the yellow grew. My only savior I learned after most of it was consumed by the yellow soars if you will was to put it a really good flow of water. It took about two weeks and it was fully recovered. Just saying you might want to put it in an area with a fair amout of water flow.

Yes, it should be fine. FWIW, mine took a month to fully open.

It went through its typical shed, nothing to cause for concern. Leathers typically like medium flow for shedding and feeding.
