Hi - I'm just getting started with my first ever reef tank. It's 32 gal. with about 20 lb of live rock and 15 lb live sand. It has been running since May 'o7. Surviving now are one blue fin damsel and one clown fish. A week ago I added a toadstool coral. It's changing from day to day, and seems to be doing quite well - shedding some of its skin. I'm finding reading the postings encouraging. :)

Welcome to 3reef! What else can you tell us about your tank? Lights? Filtration?

I just bought a leather that went into shed-mode the day I put it in the tank. First time that's ever happened to me. It was "down and out" for about 3 or 4 days, got really dark, then came back all bright and polyp-y as ever. It's a bizarre experience!

My frogsprawn does the same thing. Once in a while I see an arm floating around.

    To 3Reef!!!

Salutations! Glad to see you found way here! ;D

Looks like you are off to a great start. A Toadstool is a good starter coral. Will let you know quick when unhappy (water params need some work~)

Let me introduce you to mine (along with my "showpiece" wrasse, "Mr. Flame")

(Have no idea at what point I am going to decide it has outgrown my tank...or what I will do when it does. :-/ -- am inclined to just let it get as big as it wants, and adjust everything from there. :p)
