Just thought I would share a few pictures with my 3Reef peers in case there is someone who hasn't seen this yet.

These are pictures of my 4 inch (I'm guessing, but close) Toadstool dripping babies. This baby is number 3.

I noticed around a week ago there was a tiny teardrop squishy thing hanging from my Toadstool and realized (after I found the bigger one on the opposite side) that it was dropping babies.

The baby is not attached to the side but is being held by a very tiny layer of flesh that is keeping it hanging from its mother.

The third one was washed up by a water change but at that time, I had no idea where it came from. I'm pretty sure that she is the culprit, looks a lot like her, only very small.

Hope you all enjoy the pics.

Thanks everyone. Is this normal for them to do that? I wasn't sure. I have a couple Toadstool and never seen it before.

Yes it is fairly normal, that is how they reproduce.
    Very cool pictures!

hey sorry to hijack your thread but i have a small question..

i have a gigantic toadstool.. i was wondering if maybe mine would do the same someday? lol i really dont want to frag it, so it be good if it will do it itself in time?

Fraging it would be easier, but then again fragging would also put more stress on the coral. It might drop with time, and it might not. Usually once they get bigger they will start to drop. My kenya tree drops pobably every 2 weeks now and it is the size of a softball when it is fully opened. But, one of my friends kenya trees is even bigger than mine and for some reason it has not dropped.

::)I knew they budded, I just didn't know if it was common for one to do it in the aquarium. I tried to google it but could find no pictures to compare it to.

I have a Devils Hand that will do the same thing on occasion.

I've fragged my other Toadstool before when he gets big. The bad thing is that once you cut them, in my opinion, they expel their water and will shrink to a much smaller size. it takes quite awhile to get them back to what they were.

Instead of cutting off the top once, I cut my other one straight down the middle and was able to succefully end up with a pair of twins. One did grow much faster than the other one and I eventually sent the small one to a friends house for her tank.

Oh....during the cutting they stink so bad.

Mine has done that several times over the years but they never seem to get a hold and develop. Most of the time they end up in shady areas. I guess i should try to wedge them in a rock?
