toadstool leather question

    Are the spots on my toadstool that the polyps arent out on or i should say the bald spots somethin to be worried about

    how long have you had the leather toadstool for? i had the same problem with mine, make sure it's getting sufficient flow on it, it's probably not getting enough flow to shed off the slime it produces so the bald spots are forming from the slime covering the leather toadstool.. put it in a place where there is more current, that should be the problem, at least it seems so to me as mine looked the same at one point.. good luck

    well he is right in the center of the tank so all PH flows are hitting each other causing a good flow in his area not sure thats it

    Mine developed a bald spot when I upgraded my lights from PC to T5. It went away when I reduced the amount of time th bulbs were lit. I'm slowly acclimating it to the brighter light by increasing illumination by an hour per day. The bald spot on mine looked a little different than the ones on your's though. None of my polyps were coming out at all on that spot. The spot was on the edge where it was closest to the light. Is yor lighting much brighter than the tank at the LFS?
