Do you have a picture of what it looks like?

I've heard others say they mold but I've never seen mine really peel off layers. Maybe just a really thin slime coat once in a while when the tentacles are in. At least once a day it will pull in all of its tentacles. It usually does this when the lights turn on in the morning but it will decide to do this for other reasons unknown to me too.

Mine was looking a little sickly when my nitrates were at 50 ppm and when it was under PC lights. It's doing great under T5s but I did give it some sunburn when I transitioned the lights by doing it too fast. When it did this it looked bad in one small section only.

no it'll come off it small pieces, big pieces, strings, splotches. It might do it one way one time and a different way the next. Don't mess with it and make sure he's getting good flow. Not blasted, just so when the skin does come off it gently flows off the t.s. and not be pulled off. Sometimes they will even have what looks to be a bubble under them, on top of the plate/disk part. sometimes they will retract sometimes they won't, also they sometimes they will bend over for no reason. other times they bend over telling you they need a little more flow from the other side or their lighting is a little off.
