Toadstool looking like crap

    2) 36 watt combo bulbs - Old Lighting
    (1) 150 watt HQI/14K - New lighting

    Toad stool still have not extended. Did I kill it?

    is it melting or just not sticking it's polyps out? I'm sure you didn't kill it, they're very hard to kill. it may take a month for it to adjust to the new lighting. Mine took 9 months and never really opened all the way back up, but it was looking like it was wanting to. Give it time. UncleJed's idea was a really good one! I always thought just shortening the light period would not help since it is the intensity that is bothering the coral. Also, I think the screen stuff would have to be metal. If you used vinyl screen it would melt under the mh's, wouldn't it?

    No not melting. Just looks like naked skin. It will contract it self at night and extend the body of but no polyps. Here is a pic of it during the day.

    can you put it under an overhang or maybe in a corner, that gets less light? looks like it might be getting bleached a little, or maybe that's just how bright your lights are;). the top "plate or disk" is still inflated which is a good sign it'll be ok, just getting used to the lights.

    No shade in the tank. My tank is small and on the other side I have a Pink Pearl bubble so don't want the Toad to get stung.

    Just wanted to say thanks to everyone again. Seems like my toadstool is happy again. YEAH!!! It is fluffy and appy looking. Thanks for all the help. My toad is greatful.

    I just got my toadstool and am having fits trying to get it placed in the tank, good luck...It doesnt look dead to me....
