OK recently I bought a green Toadstool for my tank, which looks absolutly beautiful and seems to be growing extremely fast for a coral. I have it under Metal Halide system 2 250watt with 6 bluemoon led.

Anyways I was showing it off to my brother when all of the sudden it bounced on its own! It moved very very fast it was like an invisible mario had jumped on the thing. I didnt know coral could move so fast. Also at night when I turned off my MH and left the bluemoon on I noticed a very long tentacle coming from the top of the toadstool. It was about 6 inches long with more tentacles coming off of that. kind of like a ladder with the far right long post ripped off and just one side attached with the rungs. I asked the LFS about the tentacle and was wondering if he was stressed out. I asked them and he said it was a good thing and asked me if it was 1inch, I said no its about 6inches like white transparent fishing line and coming from the top of it not at the base of the toadstool. He then said he had no idea what it could be but that it could be something living symbiotically with it and that I should take a pic and send it to him but it doesnt happen every night so I guess I will Have to wait to post and show him pics.

Could you guys maybe shed some light on this for me?

Post a pic of the Toadstool. They have no means of locomotion except water current.

No means of movement except water flow? Thats kind of scary seeing as I dont have a enough water flow to make this guy appear to jump, Im serious it wasnt like he was just waving in the wind it was fast and his top appeared to shrink and pop back up again about 2 inches, no mistaking the movement and this morning I saw him turning!!!

are you positive its a toadstool? Stupid question i know but i've seen sea pens at my LFS that look kinda like a toadstool and they have the ability to move around.

    Just a thought.

I had something like that when I bought some of my first corals, but they did not last long in the tank.

It is clear and very fine, correct?

Can anyone explain the mysterious movements of the toadstool?
