I have recently got a new toadstool Coral. I brought him home and he was half way attached to a cylindrical rock. I placed this between to rocks in my aquarium. He show his polyps when I bought him. He eventually had his polyps out after I got him placed. The next day his polyps came out about 2 hours after my lights came on. But on the second full day in my aquarium and the following 2 days he has not shown his polyps lights on or off. He still has a real flesh/pink color and does not seem to be in decay. Not oozing anything, or flaking. Is this normal and how do you tell if a toad or any coral is dead for that matter?

it is not that uncommon wiht leahters. They will "shed" at times and keep their polyps in. Will come back. Also might just be adjusting to the new tank

Heck even an established leather will do this.
Usually they end up bigger afterward.
