So i just picked up an awesome deal! 30 Gal Cube tank and stand for $50!

I have decided to not go ahead with the 40 gal breeder attached to my 75 gal. I am going to leave it attached but not do anything with it. Basically just extra water.

So anyways, here is the plan.
    Sterilized tank already.
Need to paint hinges on stand they are a little rusty.
Looking into a BH100 reef octopus skimmer.(unless the skimmer that came with tank works then ill just use that until it dies)
How much flow should i go for? was thinking 2 koralia evo 550s.
Going to put the reefbreeders 120w value fixture with 90deg optics on it.
Going to make a custom sump out of a 10gal? 15gal? with refugium
I already have about 20lbs of dry rock that is in the 40Breeder right now. So should be live by the time i switch it over.
    maxi-jet 1800 return pump
    possibly get a reefkeeper lite
    and some kind of heater

tons of space under tank, so after i get sump built am going to fit a shelf in there.

    Stocking:
    Dwarf zebra lion fish
    ????

    And tons of corals

    any other ideas?

I like the tank a lot. I would imagine 2 Evo 550's would be enough. A 10 gallon sump should work, but you get more room for equipment with the 15 gallon. Make sure to have lots of hiding spots for the Lionfish. That would make it feel more secure. What other inhabitants, if any, are you putting in there?

I haven't really thought about it yet. Guess it all depends on what will get along with the lion. Probably a small CUC. Any ideas what else i could put in?

And yea i will probably go with the 15gal, i think it will fit nicely under the stand.

yea it wasnt going to happen, but everyone talked me into it.... not that it took much persuasion. hahaha

need to do a lot more research about the RKL.

All i really want it to do is monitor temp, ph, control my powerheads, and do ATO. but the RKL basic only does temp apparently? And then its like a 100$+ jump to the reefkeeper plus which i think does all that i want it to. hmm any thoughts?

I think that any other fish that won't fit in the Lion's mouth should be okay :)

yea that is what i hear. But what fish wont fit in his mount that will fit in a 30gal? I have 2 clowns in my 75. Maybe i should just move them over to the 30Gal with the lion, call it stocked, and then put something else cool in the 75?

just through maybe the lion would be happier by himself? idk. lol

I like that tank a lot!
We'll, I'll say this. I have two Koralia 420 nano evos in my 29 and it's no where near enough. I'm looking at buying another one in the 700 to 1200 range... my tank has so sump so I def wanted great flow.

Maybe it's good to leave him alone.
