May many good memories fill your heart as time eases the pain and may your souls always be intertwined!

I don't care what anyone says, loosing a dog is a horrible thing that can really affect you. You and your family will pull through, hang in there.

My wife's childhood dog is close to the end of her happiness here, and this thread just really reminded me of how hard it is going to be. Karma to ya.

I am sorry for your loss. As some have said, some people do not get how an animal can become part of your family. I have been a dog person all my life, and along the way I have lost a few due to old age most, and one a couple of months ago to a collision with a car. The pain is deep, and can last a while.

When my last dog was ran over, the animal shelter here picked her up and cleaned her up for viewing. Due to their effort to comfort me during that time I went back to make a donation. Ended up making the donation, and gained two other dogs. While they did not replace her, it did my heart good to know that from the loss of one of my family members I saved the life of two others.

Of course I still miss her, and wish she was here. I wished that we would of had her more than one year.

While you have lost your friend, be thankful of the 15 years. It seems that you guys had a great 15 years together filled with lots of great memories. While our words can not make your pain go away, may they help comfort you in the time of loss.

I'm so sorry. :( I had to put my 16-1/2 year old daschund to sleep a few years ago. He lived to be a grand old age, but that didn't make it any easier. I couldn't even talk about it for months...

    K for you.
