unless your tank is established for 6 months i wouldnt get one..but any soft corals will be fine..nems can be stressful since they can wipe out a tank and they do things that some people freak out about when its just normal..

i would not get a nem right now..see how well you do some corals and get a good foot down on everything and in a few months you can look into a nem..

if you want a clownfish host..you could get a toadstool, they are easy to care for and clowns love them...plus they make great centerpieces for your tank

nems also need very strong lighting since they are found in very shallow water...

just dont get a nem...get some more experience before you get one..they can destroy a tank and they can put more stress on their owners than enjoyment..

+1 on the toadstool when they get big the tops look a bit like a carpet nem but are safer for your tank and it's inhabitants (carpet nems can eat your fish) and if you want clown fish they'll do just fine hosting in a toadstool. Plus they don't require as much lighting.

yeah i love toadstools..i have a LTA but also a toadstool and they are great corals for beginners i think as well..they can actually thrive in many different conditions, they adjust well and are hardy, and are easy to find since they are easy to frag, also a toadstool can put money into your pocket, as it outgrows your tank, fragging is as easy as cutting a sliver off the cap and rubberband it to a rock and bam, you got a frag for sale or can grow another one in your tank, or trade..they grow fast in prestine conditions..

also man were not trying to be mean when we say not to get a nem..so many people on here think we dont want them to have a nem for some reason other than their tank is not ready, were looking out for our fellow reefers, mainly from experience or friends with a similar experience..once you get more experienced definately get a nem but an anemone should not be something you start your housing in your tank,,try some easy things, then move into something a little more difficult that maybe requires pickier maintenance..then once your really comfortable and are on the same track with your tank and have strong enough lighting, then is the time to get an anemone..
