Then check out the thread on Rubbermaid containers as sumps, very long, lots of good into too! Thats where I got many of my ideas originally.

One of the best long term sumps fot a basement is the R-M 'stock tanks', like for range livestock. I think they come in 100 and 150g, Very thick and sturdy, last forever. You can ger them at any big box store like HD, Menards, Lowes, etc.
If you don't have a drilled or RR tank, let me know 'cause my 'intank skimmer' is like a RR, only does use a siphon, that will not stop in a power out, etc.

I tried to link the thread for you, but RC has banned me forever, 'cause I posted their warning about my sig. lenth as my sig? What a bunch

PS, I have a nice basement, with an area suitable right under my tank, bur I'm staying with my instand sump for now, so as to keep my 900+ Gph head flow.

Barely 7 months. I only had two very small pieces of LR, and now most of the tank is purple.
If you notice, my back wall was painted black in the early 'cycling' pick, and now it's covered with large corraline spots, etc., all from two small pieces of LR.

I too thought I was going to go FOWLR, but when a CL buy came with many fish and some softies, I was hooked.
It's nice when people are breaking a tank down, moving, etc., you can get some great stuff for alot less $.

I know all about that but mine sand came from a guy that his tank crashed after he lost power for a wee. I paid almost nothing for all the sand I got. And I'm paying less that 1/4 the cost for 80lbs of live rock
