Todd's ~ 320 Gallon System- A New Biginning?

Hi Todd - have you tried a power off on that new sump setup yet? That water line looks pretty high - I am curious if it will hold the overflow from your tank.

 

Thanks Matt- I planned to do a short video to see it in action and not stills.
I'll try and get to it tomorrow- oh, and I have to change up my signature now too!

LOL, Yes Matt, I've done several-
and with most of the C2C overflow, and 3 x 1.5 inch lines ~ 10ft high draining down- it only goes up about 1.5 iches in the sump!
Still way below the top of the sump. Talk about some Volume!
I was waiting for someone to ask me that.
What's cool is that when you power it back on, the overfows start right up, surge a little, then within 1-2 minutes get real quiet and stay that way all night, etc.

 

Things are all well with the new 180
Immediate plans are to siphon detritus from the sump and a 30g WC
Cut and put the vinyl sheet back I have for the DT
Rearrange the scape corals

Longer term plans are to put the finish and hanger on the Maple Ply for the covering of the stand and czopy I already have cut and get that finished as well.

Realistically, probably about 250g of just water.

 

Today I got more done:
Siphoned alot of detritus out of my 125 sump- added back new SW
Raised my DIY no electric no pump ATO- I had raised sump and it is gravity fed.

I certainly learned most of what I know, and what I don't know-
here on 3Reef!

 

Yesterday saw some more positive changes,
I replaced/repositioned some coral
I Added a White back! - Within a few weeks it will be painted by my 2 sons in their Art Class!
Wow- thsat C2C overflow is basically silent!

And- some new livestock adds!

A 4.5" Sailfin Tang, Desjardini (Zebrasoma desjardini) from a fellow Reefer (Don- aka: Sloppy when wet)
Sloppy's tank and system is superb! Really nice stuff in there, and LOTS of it.

An Orange Ricordia
and a really nice Green BN

The D. Tang was in the friends fuge for being aggressive.
He just got here last night, so far looking at my tank gang, but no real acts of agression - yet.
Hoping b/c he's the new add everything will be OK.
