Yes it is Mindy, yes it is!
I also have done about 1/3 of my CC bed so far- thin layer- and wow, it's clean too!

Good to hear Todd! Glad to hear the transfer has went so smooth. I couldn't stand waiting that long with great big tank in the garage! someday I hope to upgrade to a bigger tank.

That is an interesting observation about dosing intake rates by having more water volume. Just another bonus for going big.

I was kind of wondering about that too. Then I thought about it and you want to dose to your uptake IMO, so if his levels are where he wants them, then with a couple tests to measure what his corals deplete, then he will know how much to dose. Now, I'm not sure if I'm just missing a part of this completely, but I would think he would be dosing about the same.

    Thoughts?

I would think he would be dosing less. More volume would mean that he has more abundance of the nutrients needed. Especially if his water change amount goes up.

My thought is Todd went up from about 125 volume to 250 volume. If he did 10% water changes a week he would be exchanging 25g rather than 12g. More volume would take less time to deplete the minerals and the more the water change would replace more minerals. Just my thoughts.

I could see changing my statement to same amount or less. I see where you're coming from.
