    Thanks for the reply posts everyone- ya'll are like family to me.

    I got this lamp for free from work- I had permission. I wanted it b/c I wanted to add another
    100W CFL bulb to my chaeto mass.
    I cleaned the glass with my razor scraper and added another light to it. Now 3 x 100w.

    Are you worried about growing algae on the glass that will block that light?

    just curious? I remember you used to block the light to your skimmer body so it didn't grow coralline inside the body.

    Ah yes, very true my friend.
    But I'm not so worried about the algae there, I scraped the glass with my DIY Razor scraper so it would get al lthe light. Now I'll mostly run a Mag float over it like the DT.

    I'm glad I found out what FSS was :) Todd - you are the king of cheap (free), simple techniques - love how that light it just pointed right where you need it - I wouldn't have thought to just put a light stand on the outside - glad you didn't steal the lamp :) I do have to say knowing your profession, I know what kind of light that looks like lol

    My light must be too far away from my chaeto because I never get that volume. Impressive!
