I'm liking my canopy more and more.
It's really more of a light spill blocker and light holder really.

Gives me plenty of room to work, etc. I can slide it back another 6" if I ever need too.
It lifts off with ease too.
I also included sturdy tie downs- 2 per light- no way these puppies are going swimming!

Tonights FTS- better pics with the room lights off and night outside

Absolute amazing as always. As you know my very slow build is modeled after your system. More progress has been made and I am ready to install the coast to coast and plumb the tank which leads me to my next question. On your complete siphon you have a valve to ensure that the amount of flow always ensures siphon. Is that valve down towards your sump or just behind the DT? Also, how much higher did you place your durso and emergency overflows? Is 1/2 inch higher than the total siphon ok? Im planning on 1 1/2 in overflows. Thanks as always, for both he help and inspiration!

Remember, my system only has 2 drains. Go with 3 as you planned. It leaves one more total emergency drain.

My holes for the bulheads were the same height. You can then adjust the intake by what kind of fittings you put on the inside part of it.

My 'gate valve' is about 3.5ft down from the overflow. It's still upstairs, 'member I also have a basement sump.
I think I remember reading that a lower gat valve usually works better?, as opposed to one up high right off the overflow.

Once again, thanks Todd. My sump will be downstairs also and my plan is to put the gait valve down there unless it is significantly easier to adjust being up by the DT. And yes, I will be doing 3 drains.

You could ask around on different boards, sites, this one too,- I'd put it (the valve) down low on the same level as the display, so you could make the adjustment easier while adjusting the siphon and the level in the overflow.

Todd since I slacked on drilling my remote refugium (like I first intended on doing) and my diy overflow failed I decided to buy drill bits and drill the 40G. Are there pictures on this thread when you built yours? Going with a submersible pump and the refugium will be drilled. No more overflows for me. I think I might even go back to my float valve on the RO and sell the ATO. K.I.S.S right! The only thing I don't like about the float valve on my RO is that once it gets to a certain PSI it releases some water to maintain a certain PSI only on the drain side. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
