I have used the Reef Octopus NS80 and the Hydor Slim Skim Nano Skimmer on my tank. Neither one pulled anything close to what this lil $6.00 surface skimmer is pulling out of my tank. I've got it hooked up to an MJ600 that is also acting as my intake pump. The pictures show 3 days worth of YUCK! I'm very pleased

Nice. I like those. I used them on various setups over the years when I could not do a standard overflow. I generally had them hooked up to canister filters.

I have one hooked up to my canister filter on my planted tank. An excellent tool for removing surface protein and oil from the tank.

I'm looking for a small canister filter so I can free up my intake pump :)
