    :confused:hello my tomato clownfish keeps swimming in and out of my fake anenome. he also chases fish away from it is this a normal behavore thanks

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    All normal behaviors.

    Very normal. Clownfish naturally host anemones and are very protective of them.

    I was told that if I purchased my clowns with a anemone that it has already hosted with he will not allow anything else to be arond it.

    +1 clowns in general are protective of whatever they are hosting but tomatoes are especially territorial. I have a pair of tomatoes and the female is HUGE but I bought a long tentacle anemone at the same time and acclimated them all together. The fish took right the anemone. Now all the fish in that tank all chill out in the same corner after lights out. The clowns are content as long as no one is right next to the nem which the others seem to realize they shouldnt be near either that one or my PT condy...

    my LFS had a pair of them tomato clowns:) the female was HUGE(as big or bigger than the giant GBM clown:eek:) around 6 3\4-7+ inches:eek:

    Yeah my female is probably around 5 1/2".... I have a jug sailfin tang and they are pretty much the same size.
