Anyone have one? I just picked one up today. From what I read they can be agressive at times but are not near as bad as their yellow and purple cousins.. Anything I should know about the fish? So far so good everyone is getting along nicely..

Sweet is it true that they are hard to find? I know I've seen one at my LFS show tank but have not seen them for sale there very often. Came home did some reading and read that they are not one of the more easier tangs to find?

Yeah, they are not collected very often. Uusally they go for around 70 dollars when you can find them.

They are generally a very nice tang, and being one of the few that are bristletooth tangs, they are great fish for reef janitors.

Kole tangs are the most common bristletooth tangs of the like 7 varieties of B tooth tangs. The striatus B tooth tang is maybe more common, but are usually quite aggro. I would not recommend one of those for a reef tank.

He is an amazing janitor for reef tanks, constantly nipping at rocks, glass, pipes, I've had mine for about 8months and has been a peach. At first he did go after my clown a bit as he was making his nighttime bed against a rock that my clown had established as part of his territory but once that got settled they both share the area now. He is odd as he sometimes just swims in a circle against the side glass, and it was beautiful that he intimidates my six line wrasse as he was the lil bastard of the tank with the small person syndrom except it was small fish syndrome. Overall, no issues what so ever, nice pick up.

I got a Tomini Tang 2/3 weeks ago. I have a 60 gal with a Cin Tom Clown. He was the last fish standing in a long line of mistakes I made.

So, my worry was the Cin Tom Clown being too aggressive towards any other tankmate I put in there. I made sure to have (what I thought) was enough places to hide from the clowner. I was worried about the clown being too much, since he was the only one in the tank.

I put him in there and thought I made a huge mistake as I didn't see him for 3 days. I guess I had good enough hiding places. He showed up a few days later and now is out and about. No issues with the clowner, they even share the same cave sometimes. I've seen no problems with either fish.

The TT is awesome to watch swim, very good at finding all the good hiding spots! I was between the TT and the Kole Tang, both good looking fish IMO.
