tomorrow is the big day for me

well tomorrow i have my arbitration hearing to get my job back. i worked at a union company. i got fired because i went home one night with a fever of 102 and pnemonia. that night i was let in the gates by the supervisor because i didnt have my badge i left it in another vehicle. he also punched me in when i got there. at the lunch break (where nobody would eat next to me because i had been sick for a week they all ate outside. i went in the caf and started pounding popcicles to get my fever down. it wasnt working so i waited for the supervisor to come in from outside where they all were to tellem i had to go home for the night because i couldnt keep going and needed to see a DR. i walked up to him and told him with keys in hand hey boss man i need to go im sick i need u to punch me out. he says how did u punch in? i reminded him that he had to let me in and clock me in cuz i didnt have my badge. he said ok ill do it in the mournin. so i left. they said i left without tellin anyone so they fired me over the phone a day later when i had nowhere near the amount of points to fire me and had a Drs note. which is firing me against the union contract. i filed a greivence and the union lawyer told them they had no grounds and he was pushing for full re enstatement with back pay. i lost they didnt take me back. then changed their stance to i voluntaraly quit and i didnt have my 90 days in when i had my 90 day review and its on paper that i was there over 90 days. then i filed for the last step which is the arbitration hearing i have tomorrow mourning. if it gets ruled in my favor ill get my job back and the 20-30K in back pay which will fix my messed up life and get me back on track. if they rule against me which i and my lawyer dont think theres any legal way they can then im screwed because in my area there is literally no way to make as much as i was without a degree and i know people with degrees that made half as much as me. im definitely stressing hard tonight. theres so much riding on ones persons thoughts that effects my life and its going to be a long day. and he doesnt even have to make his desicion tomorrow he has 60 days but yea one sleepless night ahead.

 

oh and another messed up thing is i didnt tell anyone i was leaving according to them yet they punched me out 3 minutes after i walked out the door

 

How can they say you didn't tell anyone if you didn't have your card and got punched out?

lol thats what the union rep and lawyer said it goes along with the i quit yet got fired over the phone with the union rep present and got a termination package in the mail lol. they lie lie lie cuz they know they messed up but they are screwed because its all on paper i just hope the arbitrator thinks that way too lol and ty i need it

 

does CT have a state agency like Texas Workforce Commission? Where you can file complaints with the state and get them involved.

 

i think so but they stay out of union cases unless its really bad but if i dont win imma push for something else because what they did to me was wrong

Just wanted to give you my opinion on this. I was in your exact situation. I was a corrections office and got fired. I wont give you that long sad story. What I wanted to say was this; I am sure everything will work out for the best, with you getting your job back. However, if you don't, Don't think of it as the end of your world. I had the same feeling about my hearing. in the end I didn't get my job back because of politics. I thought life was over. However I did get another job and some schooling to go with it. I am in a better place in life now. That job being taken away from me was a blessing but I couldnt see it at the time. Just keep positive no matter how this turns out.
