Everything happens for a reason (I believe), some things bad some things good. Everything will work out fine. Good luck.

I wish you the best, but why would they rather you gone? What may be something you want to evaluate if you get back in ot if you have to start something new. It may be helpful to think to yourself "What was it about my work ethic that made them not want to fight for me?". I'm not saying that to be "mean".

I must say I chuckled at this comment. I think you need to attend school to learn how to articulate and form proper sentence structures. Secondly, the most mundane positions make decent money as a result of Unions. They definitely do not pay for skill or knowledge. Anheuser-Busch was a large unionized business until purchased by a Belgium Corp. Even custodians were making $40 per hour. The Belgium business put a stop to that nonsense.

My question to you is: Why would you even have interest in returning to a position where they do not desire you there?
Seriously. More likely than not, if you're not gone over this incident, they'll surely find another means down the road. You can bet on that. I'd suggest that it's in your best interest to take any severance pay and seek employment elsewhere. Even if it is less pay, I'd rather be appreciated for what I have to offer.

Sometimes feeding the mouths of ones family is more important than ones pride. And I'm saying that is a good way OP.

I have been in the UAW for 37 years. I have fought many a battle with management. I won most because in the end I was in the right. Every job is valuable, whether clerical, skilled, semi-skilled or managerial makes no difference. Unless you have walked in someone else's shoes, you can not understand them. Oh, and by the way, since it seems you are not in a union, one day you may be exactly where he is now and you will have little or no recourse and no one fighting for the injustice that has been done to you.

Value isn't at question, it's skill-set to wages. I'm educated and employed with NASA. Given the circumstances, I seriously doubt I would experience this same scenario. I don't live in New Jersey, Connecticut or any other Unionized state. If I were in his position, I'd move on. There are plenty other opportunities out there. As stated previously, I'd rather work for someone who appreciates what I offer.

If it was an illegal firing, I would fight for a settlement over what happened, not fight to get back on there. I too would not go back. But that's my shoes and what I would do if it happened to me in my current situation.

But I wish for you whatever is best for you......

Ahaha, never heard that one before!

If nothing else, he's costing these scumbags money to fight at every hearing and arbitration. If he's telling the full truth here (always gotta add this disclaimer because of the subjective nature of perspective and memory), there's no way he should have been fired. As you may not have noticed, he didn't even get any severance from this ordeal. You also may not have noticed that he's in Connecticut, and is very fortunate to have a well-paying job with no higher education because of the area he lives in - he literally doesn't have a better option to turn to for a job.
