new to this site and new to reef tanks. Started my reef tank four monhts ago and most corals doing great. My tongue coral, received three weeks ago, is turning white. Is this normal? Rick

Sounds like it's bleaching. Is the flesh still intact? What are your water parameters and lighting? What else is in the tank with it (corals, fish, etc.)?

Welcome aboard mate. Sounds like you have too much light or very high Alk or Cal.

have a couple of fish which peck on the coral. the white is in the middle of the coral which receives low light. the ends of the coral are just staring to turn white and the ends are in direct light.

Also, what kind of fish have you got that are picking on the coral?
