Idk how many of you are watching but that race by Apolo Ohno was freaking awesome and it wasn't even the finals. He went from 5th place to a 1/4 lap lead in just over 1 lap . It was like he put everyone else on pause so he could pass. If he doesn't get gold in the 1500m, something is wrong.

Yeah, that was very sad what happened. Apparently a lot of other guys were getting injuries in practice too so now they've lowered the starting gate and their speeds have reduced a little. Hopefully nothing like yesterday will happen again.

This happened in mx a few years back at a track I ran. A great man died for a simple mistake. It happens and its sad. I know this feeling as a athlete myself. Just a bad day and an unfortunate tradgaty.

I forget what country, but during a practice run, a luge player lost control and went off the side of the track and hit a steel girder going 90mph.

Country of Georgia. The competitors in the dangerous events know what could happen to them, but it's still a tragedy. Most sports are safe where making a mistake won't kill you, but the luge is completely different. The only protection you have is your body, and you're going through basically a frozen water ride from hell at 90+ mph. If you mess up and go off track, it's disasterous no matter what.

Anyone see the Short-track skating finals?? I was definitely laughing at the end of that one. I'd feel sorry for the koreans...but no...because of their whipe out U.S.A. got 2nd and 3rd :D

We did luck out on the short track. Did you see the women's moguls? An awesome finish for the US, 1&3. That was a very tight and nail bitting competition. Everything you'd expect from the olympics.
