That response was EPIC! That had me ROTFL
What was the give away about the 2008 lens anyway?

The tanks I have seen HID used on all have had them mounted up really high (I love that aspect about them actually).

Plasma is too large to retrofit an existing aquarium hood.

Its gotta be LED. I've got my ideas, but given I know Tony and whom he tends to gravitate towards in the realm of aquarium products, I'm not gonna guess :D

My guess is that you would have put 2 Ecoxotic 100w led multi chips, side by side, with the eliptical optics (running perpendicular to the tank to cover the 36" front to back measurement on your tank) on a panel that slid in where the glass would have gone.

If it were me, i honestly though I prob would have done 3, two blues with a white in the middle per panel. Then put 2 pink t5 bulbs and 2 actinic t5 bulbs to even out the color.

Many great guesses and some got real close :) But, like my talks I like to get people involved with my topics. Thank you guys and gals for participating.

Here we go; the Giesemann Infinity light fixture is out fitted with five Ecoxotic 100-watt multi-chip Cannon modules. In the photo only one is lit to show the power of one Cannon. After several years of looking I finally found my Metal Halide replacement or should I say equivalent.

In order to make this retrofit work properly a lot of research and experimentation went into its development.

I am currently working on an article that will go into detail about this part of the build.

Wow, those Ecoxotic 100w pendants sure beat the pants off of my Kessil A350. I measured about 200 umol on the sand about 18" beneath the surface with the non-wide A350, compared to your 500 umol reading. Why are Ecoxotic 100 W pendants so much more efficient than the 90 W Kessil?
