While I am very new to this hobby...in life things that seem too good to be true are. That being said...my though process is that if I did get this setup and bulbs went bad/drivers failed/fans stopped working these are all things I could easily replace. I have looked at all the the DIY stuff and while I could easily do it I find that the finished product in most cases is where I would fail. I have a 10 gallon nano tank that I just started a week ago and is currently cycling...and have everything else all lined up other than lighting. But I would think this setup would work great with my small tank especially since it is overkill and I could run it at maybe 20-40% on the LED's.

    What's your thoughts?

P.S. I would do a rapidLED DIY but can't for the life of me seem to find anywhere that would have a housing that looks descent (fish tank is in the kitchen so the light can't look "bad" according to my wife).

A lot of people have used these with success. However, if you have the money, you can go with better options.

Once thing I did notice with the ones that were not in the US...the ones from China is they did have ones like:
120W Dimmable LED Full Spectrum Grow Fish Tank Reef Coral Aquarium Light Lamp | eBay
    is
    Dimmer One(28 LEDs):
    6pcs Warm White(3500-4500K),
    6pcs Neutral White(6500-7500K),
    8pcs Cool White(10000-14000K),
    2pcs Green 520nm,
    2pcs Deep Red 660nm,
    4pcs Violet (400-420nm).

    Dimmer Two (27 LEDs)
    20pcs Blue 460nm
    7pcs Royal Blue 450nm

    a lot better than

    Dimmer One
    20pcs BlueLED

    Dimmer Two
    25pcs White LED

It would make sense to me that the one with more color spectrum lights would be better...but is it $50 better? Also the blue/while only one states they only use Bridgelux or Cree chip which are good from what I've read.

For around $50 more you can get a reefbreeers LED light which looks very similiar but has a much better LED spectrum.

Forgot about this one...hmm especially since I'll be putting it right on top of the glass...with 120 deg it'll disperse better.

I wouldnt put them directly on the glass. You want some room under them for cooling. You can get some stick on rubber feet from hd or lowes to raise it up a inch or so.

They are all the same, there are about 20 companies out there in China using the exact same housing, same fan same connector and LED diodes. It might come down to the actual spectrum and lay out on each of those lights but they all capable customized. Also it could be diff in how well the person that put the light together, but I doubt you can figure that out until you actually using it.

I am currently using the first type of LED's you linked, except mine are NOT dimmable.
    It's been over a year, they're bulletproof.

The second one looks, which maybe what RB is selling also, don't know.
The second one looks great, with the 90degree lenses also.
I'd go with the second one if I was you, and I would upgrade myself if I had some spare cash ;-(.

What size tank? The Razor is insanely nice looking, controllable, has good spectrum, and is decently priced.

Op said its a 10 gallon nano, with that sized tank you could even do a couple par38's with gooseneck clamps and that'd be real cheap. Those 120w units would be a lil overkill IMO.
