    AMEN!

After talking with my wife I ended up deciding on going with the 1st. Since I already run a 250 gallon aquaponics setup she'd rather I not spend as much money...although I'm very interested with the lights....might have to test them out on my aquaculture setup to see if it has enough output for my vegetables...if so might be worth ditching my 8 T5 growlight setup for LED's...just for power savings alone.

As far as the rubber feet idea...good Idea. I will say that I have read a few places that the LED's are very good about putting almost all of their heat onto their heat sink and not bulbs...This is why I thought I could put it on the glass...but adding an inch or so wouldn't be a bad idea.

A glass top on a SW tank is usually not recommended as well.

The 10g, and I for one wouldn't mind seeing a pic of your aquaphonics as well.

They are fine as long as you have means for gas exchange. A separate sump/'fuge, skimmer, HOB filter, sponge filter, etc. are all methods of this. I have glass tops over two of my tanks longterm (1 year plus) without issues.

I have a 50 gallon AquaClear filter on the back of it. I was planning on getting a sheet of glass, cutting it so that it would have room to put my cords(50w heater and powerhead cord) and AquaClear then set the lights on top of it. If I do do this...how thick should I buy the glass(or Plexiglas? so it won't break?)? I have seen people cut straight lines of glass...how hard is it to cut out a rectangle within a sheet of glass(can't seem to find anything about this...maybe i should pay a glass specialist to do it?)?
