I would choose every one of those fixtures over the Taotronics. I assume that wasn't meant to be so condescending.

Listen to yourself. It's like you are cheerleading because you have a Ford Pinto with a V8 that blew the doos off a Ferrari!

PAR is not the only factor that matters.

If the par output is comparable, the $700 is a waste of money. Sure, it is nice to say you have the most expensive fixture out there, and yes, the radion is impressive, but no, it is not better. I have inspected several chinese fixtures, and they use drivers that are of good quality, and the solder connections are properly done and insulated. Some even have heatsinks, which are not necessary with the fans. 34 cree LEDs is less power than 55 bridgelux, and that is with side by side testing and an apogee par meter. I would also like to note that the bridgelux unit used about 113 watts, while the crees used about 90, so not a big difference there. I am not sure how much the radion uses as far as wattage, one day I will buy one to test.

2" makes little difference, may be 10-20 par max

which puts it very close to the lowest performing of the bunch on that particular form of testing.

Not at all, the whites were only at 55%, not 100% like the radion. I tested the same fixture and got over 200 par at 24"

24" through water, 12" off the water

I would love for Sanjay to test these, because something is not adding up. at 10" of air the other guy gets 400 and at 12" through air + 24" through water you get over 200? All I'm saying is that someones testing is flawed. No way the light goes through 24" of water and only looses 50%. At least I have never seen anything like that. Even if it does it is still a Pinto vs ferrari discussion. PAR not the only important factor. Quality of the light that the fixture produces is an issue as well. For me, a significant issue.

My apologies, I was on my phone at work and simply read it wrong. All you had to do was point that out to begin with.

Regardless, the unit was at 78% power (as opposed to 100%) with 120* optics (as opposed to 80* or 90*) and it still had a higher par rating. It has, at the very least, comparable performance.

A Honda Accord may not have the name stature, luxuries or the attention to detail that a Porche has, but the Accords longevity and performance on the road have made it one of the greatest economic vehicles on the market.

You may choose to pay for luxury and performance, I'll choose to pay for strictly the performance. The bells and whistles aren't necessary for me.
