    Hey Everyone,

    I was wondering what everyone thinks of my current stock list? Is it too much for a 46g bowfront w/ no sump?

    Seems fine to me. There is no set rule for how much you can stock. If you start having water trouble or aggression issues that will be your tell.

    That's my problem. I have a major diatom outbreak and I'm trying to get it under control. I thought maybe I was over stocked.

    As far as I know, diatoms have nothing to do with stocking. Its a thing every tank goes through, they feed on silicates and once those are depleted fade away. I t is usually a problem for new tanks though. How old is the tank? If its really new ya may have stocked it a little too fast, just watch out for new tank syndrome.

    A stock list is only 1/4 of the answers to help with a question.

    What are all of your current water parameters?
    How much a day and what are you feeding?
    What kind of lighting are you using, how old is the bulbs and how many hours aday is the tank lit?
