I dont get the waiting part for tangs? Is this just for powder blues? I kept a hippo (7"), kole (4"), and purple tang (5") in a 3 month old tank for months...they even improved color and looked twice as good from when i bought them. I had a remora pro skimmer and an eheim canister filter as my filtration. Add slow, test water, buy good proven equipment and dont buy any fish that are gonna outgrow yer tank in 6 months all u will be fine.

Powder blues are far more sensitive/delicate than most other tangs so a mature tank is a must.

I'm sure in the course of my adventure, this plan will change. I've seen a lot of corals/sponges that I would like to invest in down the road, but I'm into baby steps all the way. While I'm waiting for everything to come together, it's nice to keep researching and learning what has worked with different folks. I appreciate all the advice.

I always thought that anthias were a bit difficult to keep? Required a lot of feedings and perfect water conditions.

I have found lyretails and bartletts to be easier to keep. The lyretails that I have readily accept flake food and are doing well with only one feeding per day. I'm assuming that they're also feeding on the pods and whatnot that swims in the tank so they're not exactly starving :)
