    Hi there,
I plan on getting a 125g tank in a few months (I know, a long time...). But, I want to know ahead of time what I want to get. So I am asking if this would be too much for a 125g Reef or if maybe I could add another fish, possibly another Tang (Purple Tang)? Thank you for any help. ;D The tank is 6' if you didn't know...

    1 Blue Hippo Tang
    1 Desjardin's Sailfin Tang
    1 Purple Tang
    1 Flame Angelfish
    1 Midas Blenny
    2 Misbar Ocellaris Clownfish

    EDIT: Updated Stocklist^^^

that list looks ok to me. I think its probably close to the ideal limit(at least it will be when the fish approach adult sizes), you could maybe add another small fish but another tang might be pushing it.

i think you would be fine with that list, adding an extra tang im not too sure of. you might be able to squeeze something less of a poo machine tho. lol. any idea what type skimmer you will run? that can make a big difference also to what you can keep, and how "overstocked" you might bew able to get.

Your better off with a 125g to stay away from purple or yellow tangs as they are aggressive towards newcomers and as fish die off you'll want to replace them. Tangs generally don't like it when you introduce fish that eat algae so always put them in together last. A diamond goby is a good fish to think about as he cleans the sand of algae. The stronger chromis' will kill off the weaker chromis as they get bigger which is normal. How about a dwarf angel?

I was thinking about a small Flame Angel or Coral Beauty, but know that they have a chance to nip at corals...

    I love schools of Chromis...

I've never heard of the Tang situation before...:-/

its true tangs can be aggressive to new comers. more so in regards to others tangs. even if they have a different body shape. it happened when i introduced a kole tang after i had a purple for 5 months. 1st night was bad , purple was giving it to the kole pretty bad. i turned the lights out early, cooled things off and theyve been fine ever since. same happened when putting a flame angel in after a coral beaauty was there 1st. so you never know. good luck.

I have a coral beauty I have yet to see it nip at any of my corals. (they warn you of this becuase there is a chance they will. doesnt mean they will) Also consider maybe a yellow angel, as they are the least likely of the dwarf to nip at corals. btw, definatly get a sailfin tang. they are beautiful fish.
