if u goin for all led tank lights, go for GU10 LED bulbs, white:blue 50:50 and add a few moonlights like 2 per sq.foot. keep moonlights on for 18 hrs and blue for 12 and white for 10. you will get what you want. if you dont know about gu10 bulbs, just type GU10 led reef tank on youtube.blue is for zooxanthalee and not just for kool looks.

I am just wondering because I have some Panorama Pro modules coming in the mail, and it's going to be a lot of blue, not much white. I just don't want to over due the blue and not be able for zooxanthellae to photosynthesize. I'm not sure if the blue lights do that, or if it's only the whites that cause photosynthesis.

Of course with dimmers, I will be able to dial in my intensities, but It's going to be something like

    8 12000k 19w whites
    like 22 blue 19w
    and 8 magenta 19w

its going to look super fricking amazing but i'm just so noob to lighting and par levels and what they all mean for corals and zooxanthellae so that's why I have started this thread in hopes to gain some insight on LED lighting especially with actinics

Those should put out some pretty good par than. Royal blues put out more par than any white diode I've seen.

i know even on my little nano the 5 gallon the panoramas par at the sandbed is unbelievable for only being 1 watt led's, however the panorama pro is slightly more than 1 watt each because it has 12 led's that total 19 watts.

well i really look forward to installing my panorama pro's. just unsure whether to retrofit my biocube lid or order a panorama fixture hood and have an open top. that would also require reflectors - i just dont want to trash my new PC's when i could figure out a way to use them for my 35g hex
