Unless you're a body-builder, shaking can cause a whole lot of problems. Rolling works just fine, and it's safer and easier. :)

well i did a roll down the hallway and back filled water change and 24 hrs later for aeration i test the calcium in my water change and its 470-480 and i tested from the brand new bucket i bought from homedepot so i know there is no residue to mess with the test. i think it might be the test kit, cause i who knows how long it sat at the store and what not, and then it sat in my cabinet for 2-3 months so it may ahve gone bad, idk the new elos test kit will be here soon i will test with that.

well the red sea kit was right cause i tested with the elos kit and it came back 480-490,my only conclusion i can think of......my DIY rocks and i need soemthing in there to use the calcium.

see my rocks are made up of argonite rock, portland cement and perlite (which is glass that is puffed up).
i guess the cement will leech for awhile but from what i read 480 isnt horrible but if it goes 500+ to start worrying, i will just continue to due bi weekly water changes and watch it from there. maybe put some NPS in there maybe that will start to use the calcium and maybe a few macro algae that use calcium what do you think

unless there is a salt that does not have as much calcium or somthing to put in there to absorb it. or i can pull my diy leds and put some coral in there to see how they do cause the rest of my stats are spot on
