Well I get kinda carried away when making live rock. I have made about 60-70lbs in the last 2-3 weeks. Its just curing and I still have more waiting in the molds. I dont think that I am going to need all the rock. But I was thinking that I have an extra 40 breeder in my basement, some sand, a canister filter, a biowheel 350, along with some regular NO bulbs with ballasts that I can use to overdrive them. Anyone else get carried away making LR. I am planing on using my rejects and extra rock in this tank and put a few fish in their just to kinda cycle the rock and sand........and another tank. I love saltwater!

sounds good to me. you do know it takes like a month or two to cure DIY rock. the ph in the rock will leak out in the tank, and make it to high. i really havent heard to much good stuff about DIY rock. youll be better off getting cheap base rock, or calcium based rock like lime stone and curing it. Im tying that with a few limestone rocks right now, and they seem to be doing well. good luck and let us know how it goes,
