I dont know if there is such a thing. But I currently have a 45gal tank with 3 maxijet 1200's running in the tank. A fourth one is used to power my Aqua C remora. I also have a Aquaclear 3000(70) for mechanical filtration. I just got my first 2 fish(small percula[or false not sure]). So exciting!

So I was wondering Do you think the 3 powerheads is too much? The little guys seem to be ok, but they dont head out to the middle of the tank much. Pretty much are just happily hanging out on one end of the tank.

And then the second question is. When and what type of corals should i start with? I really like the soft ones that flow in the water, but I dont know what is a good learning one. And do i need to wait a while since I just got my first fish? Tank has been running since late november.

    Thanks!

I don't think you have too much water movement! It is normal for Clowns to remain in one part of a tank if it offers them protection to make them feel safe from other fish etc. My Clowns always stay at one part of my tank. Granted that my Percula has a symbiotic relationship with an Anemone, but my Cinnamon stays in my Xenia patch!!
As for the second question, for starter corals that sway in the current, try Xenia, Star polyps, and Colt coral. Their are also many mushrooms, zoo polyps, leather coral, and large polyped stonies recommended for the beginner aquarist!

No you don't have to much Heck we just broke down a 45 tank I had a RIO 1700 on one end 4 M/J's on a red sea wave maker and a Mag 9.5 for the sump and piuped back on 1in hard PVC :) You might need more if you plan on SPS corals ? But you do have plenty for soft's with what you describe at this point..

Awesome guys!! Thanks for the link. You guys are always good at putting my mind at ease. Man I knew clownfish were supposed to swim funny, but I am so glad they are my first fish. They are such a crack up all the time.
