I just put my 2 O Clowns in my DT last night. Aside from them there are 3 nerite snails in there. That is all the livestock. Take a look at the video and see if I have too much flow in one area or just too much flow period. Also, it does seem a little harder to feed them in this tank rather than the 10g QT the were in. Will changing my Powerhead configuration help that? I'm open to suggestions on the PH config as long as it's not moving my sand around in piles exposing the tank bottom. Thanx in advance.

    Here's the video link.

EDIT: the link appears to be messed up. I'll get it fixed very shortly.

    I have 2 Maxi-Jet 600 they are putting out 600gph each. It's a 75g tank with a 20 long sump.

Here's a YouTube link to the video. It should be available soon.

    cannot view You tube

but 1200 gallons per hour in a 75 gallon tank is only 16 xs turnover per hour
which is hardly what I would consider to much flow even in a FOWLR set up

clowns can and do, do well in SPS set ups with flow rates of 70 or 80 or even more x volume per hour

my opinion is the fish will be fine with what you have
and depending on if you are going coral later , you may / will need to increase the flow (depending on coral choice )

you may have to much flow in any 1 direction, and experimenting with the positioning of the power heads is something majority of us have to do at one time or another

Thanx steve. The video should be working now. I repositioned them and it seems to be doing better.

I do not think its to much flow at all. Like steve said probably not even enough when you start going for coral.

That looks great though. I love the scape. I cant wait to see it with coral, coraline algae over the rocks and more live stock.

One idea though, might be to paint the back over flow black or find a way to cover it. It would blend in nice that way.

    welcome jmann124

Ryan, my prediction is that the overflow will be one of the 1st things in that set up to get coated by coralline (it loves plastic)

that will eventually blend in with the back of the tank, which if left unscraped will also be a nice purple colour in the fullness of time

Any tips on getting the overflow changed to black? I know I can't paint it since it's in the tank.

Also, you should turn the power heads off during feeding. This makes it easier for them to eat, and reduces food being wasted.
