ok im not sure if it is or isnt possible to have too much flow in my FOWLR, but i lost my puffer the other day after a long battle of him being sick and make a long story short i murdered my tank....so after reading a lot and talking to people i decided to put a power head in the fish tank, i bought a maxi-jet 900 (out of convenience, 2nd lfs is 30 min away) and the ecomod attachment for it, but now my trigger doesnt seem to want to leave his rock caves, yes he swims around in the and is looking better than he ever has, as well as my water is looking and testing superb, so im just wondering if he doesnt like the current or what, the tank is a 60 long

on a side note i just moved a clam closer to the cave to feed the trigger and saw my newest unidentified critter, i have a very tiny star fish so im off to identify him;D

Yo might want to bounce it off the front glass that way there is less direct flow

no not even enough flow. As far as your trigger, if he's looking happy, healthy and eating well, then I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe he's mimicking sp. his activity in the wild. With a maxi jet 900 ur getting 200 gallons per hour??? My 50 gallon sps tank is turning about 3000 gph and my fish love it.

the maxi-jet with the eco mod is almost 2500 ph, but the trigger wont come out of the rocks to eat unless the jet is off, gonna try aiming it at the glass

What kind of movement did you have in the tank before this power head.

i don't think the flow is too much it might just be scared. i have a sharpnose puffer. and he will go in my 1200 sureflow mod maxijet(2100 gph) and swim no problem.

well i had about 300 gph before this power head, was told it would be enough for a FOWLR but I am much happier with water since its been in

Im thinking sostoudt might be right, he may be scared, and Im also thinking that since he doesnt have any competition for food any more he may just be taking his time to eat the only other fish in the tank are a cple damsels and a chromis
