I never had a problem with them. They work great. Simple clip on lamp with a 6500K cfl bulb is all i got.

And these regular bulbs are safe enough to be on for 5+ hours without melting anything?

The problem with cfl's is they need to be replaced every 4-6 months. I swithched from cfl to the RB bulb and it does an amazing job. If the leds last as long as claimed in the long run they will save you money on bulbs and electricity.Heat while usually not an issue with cfl's is even less with the par bulb. You also can hang the bulb a bit higher. I have noticed what I believe to be a hot spot on my turf scrubber in the center and the bulb is at 9". It will easily cover the dimensions you have.;)
Plus they have a cool look to them.8)
Either will work and the beauty is you can buy a fixture and use it for both.

oohhh, I'm staying out of this one, and the RB light does look good, I think I would need two of them though, as I now have two of the cone reflectors with 100W cfl bulbs over a year old! Oh my
