;)If it has a layer of algae on it there definitely needs to be more flow.;)

Ok well I moved it up to a high flow area added my other 750 power head. Hopefully 2 750gph won't make the other tank mates upset

I just don't understand how it will be ok when it opens up? The fingers will be blowing around like crazy...

If it has color, it should be fairly healthy. In that situation, if it isn't opening, it is usually flow. I agree with trijam that this seems especially likely if there is algae. As far as flow goes, I'm not sure I'd aim a power head directly at it, but they can handle quite a lot. You can also try spraying them with a turkey baster to try to blow off the mucus buildup. It should seem like dead skin coming off. You can squirt them pretty vigorously to make this happen, and I find one it's off, they should open up, pretty much right away. If it dosn't then parameters or toxins would be suspect.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
IMO it needs to go in an area of much lower light and mod flow or even alittle stronger. Some soft corals like leathers will just do this, especially when you move them around. Definitely an area of lower light though, when you find a spot just let it sit for a week or two.

So should I move it down some? The twin 750s are makin some good flow on the other side of the tank, I'm gonna move it one more time and leave it for awhile.

The area you have it placed in is more of an area I would put light loving sps.

Leathers like light but that is too much IMO. Let it acclimate in an area of lower lighting for a couple of weeks then move it up higher if you want. It might stay closed for a little while since it has been moved.

nightster had it lower to begin with I believe and it wasn't opening then either. Is that correct? Also, it's near some candy canes, that seem to be doing well. IME, candy canes are much, much more sensitive to light than leathers.

Leathers don't like being disturbed too much though, so, wherever you put it, give it a fair amount of indirect flow and let it adjust for a while. I've seen them just disintegrate from too much handling. With 4x T-5s anywhere mid-level down should be more than safe, but really it should be able to handle where it is without issue.

Also, you could try feeding tank, sometimes that helps entice them to open. I've seen leathers stay closed for a week or so though and be perfectly fine. They can be funny like that...
