I just lost my occelaris. It was about 4 years old. And it just died for no apparent reason. All parameters are fine. Is is possible for it to have too much water movement, and it got tired. I have the mag pump from the sump, a fluval filter, and 2 powerheads(1 off at night). I know this sounds stupid but I can't think of anything.

Sorry to hear about your loss :( I just don't see how it could be the water movement though. Not with what you have listed. If a fish is tired of being in the flow they know how to move and find a comfortable spot....

How much movement do you have on the surface of your water?

Sorry for your lost, but I second what Diver said... if there's LR in the tank a fish will always find a comfortable spot. Maybe just old age???

I had a gold banded maroon clown for 14 years. I dont know the life span of your species, but I am sure it is more than 4 years

I looked at a few site and the range of age is 5-7 years, so it could be "old age". As for water movement at the top of my tank I have the 2 powerheads during the day (1 at night), and I also have an over flow to my sump. The fluval and the return create some water movement at the top but Im not sure how much.

    Sh*t happens. :(

He could always find a quiet eddy. I'm with the gang, I doubt it was because of too much movement.
