Is there a problem if I'm collecting water in my collection cup? I mean it is really dirty, but is there a problem with it being too wet?

I cleaned it I think two days ago.

Wet skimming is like doing "very" small water changes along with skimming. "Agressive skimming". Salinity and other things need to be kept "on top of" when wet skimming. More water in the collection cup. More "make up" water. More nutrient export etccccccccc. And the list goes on. Not that it's necessarilly bad but, more work. IMO

You could try shortening the hose that runs from your pump to your skimmer. Needlewheel pump should sit about 2" under water surface. The deeper the pump sits the wetter the skimmer and vice-versa

I don't know about "wet-skimming" but the pic you posted looks like every other skimmer i've seen in action.

You want the dryest bubbles possible in your skimmers collection cup.
If you're getting unnecessary water in the cup you should lower the water level to try and get the bubbles "dryer".

I turned down the flow from the needle wheel pump which lowered the water level in the skimmer so that should help.
