I want to set up a Kalkwasser dosing system to my setup. My question is, should I have the solution dripping into my auto top off (which empties into the sump return area), directly into the sump return area, or directly into the DT?

The easiest way would be IMO to run a kalk reactor through your ato into your sump.there are pump style and stir bar, I prefer stir bar so there are not any timers to deal with and I don't have to worry about pumping a kalk slurry into my tank.

I run all my Kalk thru my ATO system. The only time it doesn't top off is when I am stirring the mix.

Personally if I were to use Kalkwasser again I would use a reactor. The ATO is an easy way to do it but I found that my evaporation rates change too much over the course of the year so I would have to constantly adjust things. For a lower demand system than mine (or maybe in a more temperate climate than MN :) ) it might work better though. Also right into the sump is where it should go IMO.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. I think I will be running it through my ATO.
On another note, I am peeking outside every ten minutes looking for the mail truck as my RODI unit from Bulk Reef Supply is supposed to be delivered today (purchased during that last bulk order deal). Who thought a water filter would cause me to feel like it was Christmas when I was 10 years old!
