ok i have a 75 gal reef tank and i want to start adding kalkwasser to it. but i am also losing about 3gal of water a day due to evap. not a big deal i dont think. i dont have a sump i run a fluval fx5 and i would like to have an auto top of kit directly to the tank from my RO unit. now what will i need for a full top of setup. what kind of pump to push the water from my holding tank, and then just a simple float setup i would think. can i tap into that with my kalk mix up or do i have to get a whole nother dosing pump for that as well. thanks

I'm gettin ready to set up a cheap DIY auto top off here in the next week, I look to start a thread on it while it is done, $50. I think the commercial ones straight from a RODI unit is a lot more expensive. Mine is coming from a trash can. Not much help !!

Go to marinedepot.com they have lots of products there and also reviews from people who bought them. Best place to kind of browse through.

I currently have the $14 dosing pump..its the only cheap one but it doesnt pump very high, only a couple of feet at most.

Also if the dosing pump doesn't have a speed control, you can buy a plastic valve at Petsmart or someplace and place it to desired speed on the inlet part of the tube.
