Am I risking to much by topping off with unheated water?
I usually add about 1 gallon in the morn.. and then another 1 in the evening.
Its room temperature.. so maybe 68 or so degrees

i dont heat mine but i do add it in the sump by the heater not that that really makes a difference but i do think it allows it to have time to mix well before entering the dt.

in a 90 gallon tank and a sump you are looking at something in the neighborhood of 100 gallons - at that - 1 gallon or 1% at 68 degrees will likely not even be noticed by that large a volume of water.

I top off two or so gallons/day at a time on my 120 with 68 degree water and I never see a change in temp.

I have a 75 gallon with a 30 gallon sump. I top off a gallon or two a day into the sump with no ill effects. You are fine.

Thanks.. I just wanted to make sure. So if I do 2 gallons at once or even 3 am I still safe? What would be the max I could put in before it may be a risk? I just scoop the RO out of a 5 gallon bucket with a 2 quart measuring thing and pour it into the sump.
