I have been wanting one of these for a long time, and recently I saw a couple small frags in my LFS. They were about the size of a walnut, but something looked a little off . . . there was no color to them at all. Are these normally super bland and colorless as babies?

yeh pretty much usually a shade of brown with whitesh tips. There are more colorful ones out there but they are hard to find.
mine is the same way brownish (pinkish) with white tips.

Mine has purple tentacles with yellow tips. A friend of mine had a neon green torch coral. All different colors.

ive only ever seen the green or purple tentacle varieties. i bought mine when it was only one little head and its 5 inch in diameter, but it was bright and colorful when i bought it. instead of buying one that looks blah and might turn into nice, buy a nice on that might turn into a thing of beauty.
