I recently lost a torch head. It seemed a bit random... The rest if them look great but there is one that has been white now for about two months. Anybody see this before? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356478309.155220.jpg I wonder that he is not getting enough light due to the fuller heads above him?

Do you have random flow in your tank? Pics are not good at showing that. Does the coral always look like that? Why I ask is you might have ripped the tissue from straight strong flow.

Flow isn't straight, the torch swirls around but not violently. The head is always white now. Calcium has been running low, but other than that params are stable. No fish picking on it.

Didn't you start another thread on another coral doing poorly? Do you have one with problems or multiple? That could have an affect on the solution.

I do not believe shading from the other heads would be a problem. It looks like if fully expanded it would receive plenty of light. Also, as logn as they are still connected through fleshy tissue the heads can share nutrients I believe. That is why baby heads can develop underneath the massive parent heads without being starved out.

I do see diatoms, how old is your tank and how long have you had the coral?

Need some test results SG, Alk, CA, Mag, Nitrate, Phos

Seems like too much flow to me. When in doubt, I usually move LPS to low flow areas.
