    Hi everyone,
I'm completely new to SW and new to this site too.
I have 17 month old triplets, and just bought a 55 gallon aquarium, partly for them, and partly for me, LOL.
Growing up I have very fond memories of my parents' SW aquarium, so I'm hoping to recreate some of that magic for my girls.
    :)

Anyway, I'm planning a FOWLR tank. So far I've put in two bags of live sand and only about 10lbs of live rock. I plan on buying some more live rock this weekend off of craigslist - hopefully 30-40lbs or so.

I don't even have any test kits yet, but hope to check my parameters this weekend. I'm hoping to get a fish or two in a few weeks, but will just have to wait and see how it goes, cycling-wise.
This site looks great and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome, Margie! Get kits for ammonia and nitrates. A test kit for Nitrites is not essential, unless you want to keep track of the time frame. You'll need a refractometer too.

After your cycle is complete, you should have test kits for calcium, magnesium and alkalinity.

Keep us posted, and we love pics!!

Welcome to 3Reef! It's the best resource in the world for marine reefkeeping!! If you don't think so, I'll double your money back. :)
